Drake Calls Performing “One Dance” the Hardest Part of Hosting ‘SNL’
The Drake publicity tour chugs on, as the rapper goes from the Saturday Night Live stage to sitting down with Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday (May 18). Word of his appearance was announced last week, and the two chat about Drake's turn as SNL host, with Ellen praising his ability to serves as the evening's feature performer as well.
"I have the utmost respect for the SNL cast and everybody that works there," he said. "It’s one of the most intense talent gauntlets I’ve ever been put through. It really is something you only understand if you’ve experienced it."
Later on, Drizzy details the difficulty of turning from actor and comedian to musician within the span of about 15 seconds. "That was the hardest part," he said. "I had to sing 'One Dance' for the first time. And I had to run from one side of the studio to the the other and then they throw you on stage. I tried to make the best of it. It’s definitely a tough task."
