Lil Wayne’s Fate in Gun Case Relies on DNA Evidence
Lil Wayne appeared in a Manhattan courtroom for a hearing regarding his gun case today (October 21, 2009) and it seems like the decision may come down to a small piece of DNA evidence.
“They started Frye hearings regarding the DNA sample taken from the gun," Manhattan District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Tracy Golden explained to E! News. "It is a discussion about [scientific] evidence and the evidence being discussed is a sample of DNA,”
Lil Wayne was arrested on July 22, 2007 and charged with attempted gun possession after officers found a .40-caliber handgun that Wayne claims did not belong to him.
The hearings will resume tomorrow. –Brooklyne Gipson
