50 Cent proved some bonds just can’t be broken, when he decided to pay homage even to long time friend and collaborator, Eminem via Instagram.

The caption read, “I traveled a lot of places. Met a lot of people. But EM is my favorite. He gave me my shot, man. That's all I needed. I ran with it." This was accompanied by a photo of him and Eminem in the studio, along with the conveniently placed hash tag, #smsaudio.

The Jamaica Queens rapper who was once signed to Eminem and Dr. Dre’s label, Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope, announced his departure from the label on February 20 after putting in 12 years. In a statement via Associated Press, 50 Cent also had this to say following his departure from the label, “I have had great success to date with Shady/Aftermath/Interscope and I'd like to thank Eminem and Dr. Dre for giving me an incredible opportunity. I've learned so much from them through the years. I am excited to enter this new era where I can carry out my creative vision."

"Both myself and Shady Records are grateful to have had the chance to play a part in 50's career," Eminem said in a statement via Associated Press. "Shady simply would not be what it is without 50 Cent. I've developed a great friendship with 50 over the years, and that's not going to change. We know 50 will have success in his new situation, and we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit."

50 Cent is currently an independent artist and plans to drop his forthcoming album, Animal Ambition on June 3rd.-Morgan Murrell
