Wyclef Blames Himself For Fugees Breakup, Cites Falling “For Lauryn” As Reason [Video]
The Fugees were one of hip-hop’s most beloved groups. Let Wyclef tell it, it was love that broke the group apart. In a recent interview with Power 106’s ‘Big Boy in the Morning Show,’ Clef took the blame for the breakup saying his affair with Lauryn Hill was the catalyst for the group disbanding. “Fully looking back then, now as a man and looking back, I definitely take blame having fell for Lauryn at the time. But in my form or artistry and a lot of times we read these stories and we go and read whether its Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell, or even back in the days of mythology with Zeus and whoever he fell for you always think ‘no this is never going to happen to us.’ ”
