Chamillionaire Turns 33 Years Old Today

The Houston-bred rapper started his career with childhood friend Paul Wall by collaborating on their album Get Ya Mind Correct in 2002. But the Mixtape Messiah headliner came to national attention in 2005, with the highly successful single "Ridin'," which topped Billboard 100. The album, The Sound of Revenge became a platinum hit, and while his following release Ultimate Victory failed to match his previous win, Chamillionaire consistently released music in the mixtape circuit. After squashing his longterm feud with Paul Wall, the two friends reunited for a tour. And in 2011, Cham parted ways with Universal Records, to pursue the independent route under his own venture Chamillitary Entertainment. In early 2012, his EP Ammunition garnered much critical praise. His third album Poison has yet to receive a release date. —Anastasia Williams (@AAAAAnastasia)
