Weekly Recap [9/9-9/15]: 50 Cent, Webbie, and French Montana
Here are the most buzzworthy stories of the week that was, September 9-15.
After rumblings of 50 Cent and friend Floyd Mayweather having a falling out surfaced on the net, the advisor to Money May's rival, Manny Pacquiao, confirmed that 50 and Pacman are in talks to begin a boxing promotion company. In media appearances later in the week—such as stops at Hot 97's Angie Martinez Show and Power 105's The Breakfast Club—50 confirmed that Mayweather was supposed to be the third party in the new boxing promotion company, but felt as if the prize-fighter has been acting different since being released from jail in August.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper was arrested for battery and robbery early Thursday morning (September 13), allegedly kicking a woman down a flight of stairs and stealing $340 from her purse inside a Chase Suite Hotel. A rep for Webbie says the rapper never assaulted the woman nor stole money from her. Webbie was released later in the day on Thursday.
“Man, I couldn’t do it," French told The Boombox about continuing his marriage with wife of six years, Deen Kharbouch. "That’s why we got separated. At first it was smooth, but then as much as people think that money changes you, it’s changing them around you. A person ain’t gonna treat you the same now that they think you think you something.”
