Returning to his Mixtape Weezy persona, Lil Wayne released his DJ Drama-helmed Dedication 4 'tape on Labor Day, yesterday (September 3).

Upon its release, though, everyone was talking about Nicki Minaj’s lyrics on the track “Mercy,” which jacks the instrumental for Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music track of the same title. On the record, the Young Money rapper rhymes about Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

“I’m more Republican, voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy bitches is fuckin’ up the economy,” Nicki spits on “Mercy.”

Since the release of Weezy’s mixtape, the Internet has been buzzing about Nicki’s political allegiance. Is she a Republican?

Talib Kweli, for one, doesn’t seem to think so.

“I doubt Nicki seriously supports Romney,” he tweeted earlier today (September 4). “Her lyrics ain’t political. She just wants y’all to talk about her & she winning cuz it’s working!”

That’s just one opinion, though. Having said that, XXL implores users to weigh in on Nicki's lines in the comment section.—Mark Lelinwalla
