Nas turns 39 today (September 14). The Queensbridge legend has been enjoying quite the ride this year, especially with the success of his latest album, Life Is Good—which received XXL‘s coveted XXL rating. Aside from his slew of memorable guest verses that vary from DJ Khaled’s Hip-Hop, also featuring Scarface, Rick Ross’ Rich Forever gem, “Triple Beam Dreams,” MMG’s “This Thing of Ours,” Tyga’s ”Kings and Queens” and more, the QB vet also scored big this year with the No I.D. produced “Daughters.”
“Nah, the way mothers feel for they sons, how fathers feel for they daughters/When he date, he straight, chip off his own papa/When she date, we wait behind the door with the sawed off/Cause we think no one is good enough for our daughters,” he ascertains in the summer jewel.
Closing out this year’s Rock the Bells tour in NJ with a special appearance from Lauryn Hill, after highlighting this June’s Hot 97 Summer Jam, Esco will be gracing the stage once more at the end of the year at the legendary Radio City Music Hall for a New Year’s Eve concert. “There is no better place for me to spend New Year’s Eve than New York City, and there aren’t many better places to perform in this world than Radio City,” he revealed in the show’s press release.
Enjoying another stellar year, XXL wishes Nasty Nas a happy birthday! —XXL Staff (@XXL)
