Chris Lighty’s family, along with 50 Cent, aren’t yet convinced of a New York City coroner’s conclusion that Lighty’s death resulted from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Attorney Scott Leemon and P.I. Les Levine have been hired by the family to lead an independent investigation into the death. Levine is known for his role in other high profile cases, including the 1999 shooting death of Amadou Diallo by NYPD. In an interview with Fox 5 News, 50, who’s elected to pay for the investigation said he couldn’t say no when Lighty’s mother approached him about launching a private investigation. “She kinda needed closure,” said 50. “And there were so many grey areas.”
