50 Cent Speaks on Partnership with Manny Pacquiao

Yesterday, it was announced that 50 Cent was teaming with Manny Pacquiao for a boxing promotion company. The move was notable in that it was a partnership between Fif and a rival, Pacquiao, of one of his good friends in Floyd Mayweather. In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club on New York's Power 105.1, the Queens rapper explained the move.

“Floyd is a friend of mine," 50 confirmed. "What you get is...I look at Floyd like he’s my younger brother. He earns so much that he just spend. Run around and spend what he want. So, there’s no urgency, to anything. And when the communication breaks and it starts to not be—look, my concept of TMT is ‘the fights you want to see.’ It’s Floyd [Mayweather and] Manny Pacquio, the fight.”

Per usual, the G-Unit boss confirmed that he's about his business. "If actually building the company would build the excitement that keep Floyd conscious of what's good for business, as opposed to the ego, then I could sacrifice the company, putting them together on that financial end and saying, 'Y'all could promote the whole thing,'" he continued. "I get 200 million [dollars] easy. I raised it twice for my film production company. That's what it would cost for the fight."

Fif also reminded that he's been working on making this fight happen for some time now, even if he hasn't been at the forefront. "The first time he offered Pacquiao 40 [million dollars], you know I was over there," he said, referencing his connection to Mayweather during the time of that lucrative offer to fight.

Even by teaming up with Mayweather's potential foe, though, Fif doesn't see it putting a strain on their friendship. “I think he’ll go ‘I wish him luck,’" he speculated of the fast-talking boxer's reaction. "It’s not like I’m not in communication with him. I texted him and told him everything.”
