Earlier today (August 6), Azealia Banks added to her list of Twitter feuds by exchanging words with fellow outspoken Harlem native Jim Jones. The topic of their friction? The correct definition of the term “vamp.”

The dispute started when the young femcee tweeted: “@AZEALIABANKS: VAMP: A very sexually/financially powerful woman who is usually characterized by a penchant for dark things; night, witchcraft, .. Etc.,” causing a follower to reply, “@Rahim_theDream: @AZEALIABANKS but @JimJonesCapo already has a track called “Vamp Life.”

Capo, who’s become synonymous with “Vampire Life,” then added his own two cents to the conversation, tweeting back: “@jimjonescapo: @AZEALIABANKS tht vamplife is contagious.”

This didn’t sit well with Banks, who retorted:

“@AZEALIABANKS: @jimjonescapo yea I know! I wrote 212 in 2011 before ur song tho. That vamp shit is some fashion stuff as well. In case u didn’t know.” Azealia then added more to the fire:  “@AZEALIABANKS: @jimjonescapo don’t be tryna take no credit Holmes.”

The aforementioned comments angered veteran Jim Jones, who proceeded to attempt to kick knowledge to the young “212” rapper, tweeting; “@jimjonescapo: @AZEALIABANKS knock it off please learn more about Harlem before u start vampin lol jokes enjoy ur day keep #vampin.”

After reading Capo’s reply, Banks began politely asking him to “go away,” prompting the Diplomat to disobey her requests by responding, “@jimjonescapo: @AZEALIABANKS tell ur mother to go away ub2 bit slore.”

As a parting shot, she offered: "lol jim jones said i need to get my shoes and bags together... what kind of straight man worries about a woman's shoes and bags??? wtf???"

Azealia isn’t any stranger to Twitter beef. Just last week, Banks and Nicki Minaj exchanged words via the social media outlet and before that, she aggressively sent shots at the likes of Lil Kim, T.I., Iggy Azalea and Kreayshawn. However, the fiery rapstress could be changing her ways soon.

"I REALLY have to learn not to respond to everything..." she said after the exchange.

She might have been feeling that way for a while, as evidenced by a recent truce with Kreayshawn.

“@AZEALIABANKS: @KREAYSHAWN I apologize for coming down on you so hard earlier this year,” she tweeted recently. “I can be really defensive sometimes. I’m just naturally rude. LMFAOO it’s a NY thing… I can’t help it.”

Kreayshawn accepted her apology, and now the two plan on working on a collaboration that also includes fellow femcee Angel Haze.—Christian Bonoan
