Imagine if Frank Ocean had sold physical copies of his Def Jam debut, Channel Orange, in its first week, rather than just digital ones. Its already notable opening sales would have been even more impressive.

With its release pushed up a week from the scheduled July 17 to July 10, the Odd Future crooner's lauded Channel Orange experienced a digital-only release in its first week, but still managed to land at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with 128,000 album sold. This is the second week in a row that an R&B singer steeped in hip-hop has neared the top of the chart, as Chris Brown's Fortune debuted at No. 1 to kick off the month the previous week. This time around, Breezy's fifth solo album moved 45,000 discs, to reach a two-week total of 180,000.

Still standing respectably in its third week, Maybach Music Group's Self Made 2 hit No. 13 this week, after selling 21,000 copies. In three weeks, the heavyweight crew have sold 154,000. In just two weeks, the Bawse, Rick Ross, will be dropping off his solo effort, God Forgives, I Don't.

Rounding out the top 20 is indie vet Aesop Rock, whose latest release, Skelethon, sold a solid 14,000 units in its first week. This was his sixth solo effort.

A bit further down the chart, Flo Rida's Wild Ones (No. 23, 13,000 sold), Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (No. 40, 9,600 sold), Drake's Take Care (No. 54, 7,000 sold), Waka Flocka's Triple F Life: Fans, Friends & Family (No. 84, 4,900 sold) and B.o.B's Strange Clouds (No. 87, 4,800 sold) all remained in the top 100.

Look out for Nas' 10th solo album, Life Is Good, to have a respectable debut when it hits the charts next week. —Adam Fleischer (@AdamXXL)
