It’s been just over two weeks since the infamous bottle-throwing melee sparked between Drake and Chris Brown at New York City’s W.i.P. nightclub on June 13. Still, people are still talking about the wild incident, which left several people injured and the club shut down indefinitely with its liquor license suspended earlier this week.

In a recent interview with the UK’s Tim Westwood, Nicki Minaj expressed discontent over talents like Drizzy and Breezy getting into a situation like that in the first place and reveals what she told her Young Money labelmate in the aftermath of the unfortunate incident.

“I don’t approve of talented people doing things that aren’t conducive to an amazing career,” Nicki began telling Westwood in her British accent.

“I spoke to Drake and I told him from the bottom of my heart how I felt,” Minaj added in her normal speaking voice. “I’m like, ‘Baby, you are a superstar and I need you to realize that.’ He did nothing wrong, of course. Rumors are rumors and that’s what it is. I told him, ‘It’s time to remember who you are.’ Sometimes you just might need to go to bed, have an early nap, go to the hotel. There’s nothing wrong with that. I do it all the damn time.”

Prior to weighing in on the W.i.P. debacle, Nicki told Westwood about kissing Nas in her “Right By My Side” video, which portrays the Queens-bred rappers as a couple.

“You know, what Tim? It worked,” Nicki told the UK personality about the smooch with Nas. “It was hip-hop…Queens, royalty. Outside of the kiss, it just had so much chemistry. It seemed like a real relationship, a real hood relationship and I wanted to portray that. I wanted the song to feel like your around the way relationship.”—Jakinder Singh
