Drake Says Joint Project With Rick Ross May Not Be Called Y.O.L.O.

Even though Drake and Rick Ross have announced a joint project, an actual release from two of the game’s biggest stars seems far from certain. Even if they do get all the places in piece to make it happen, though, it will no longer be called Y.O.L.O..

“That title has become so—it’s like an epidemic,” Drake told MTV News about the phrase, which stands for “You Only Live One,” whose popularity has rapidly picked up in recent months. “I hope by the time we finish [the project], it would still hold weight and substance. We might have to call it something different now, ’cause that’s just so attached to ‘The Motto’.”

As to whether or not the project actually happens, regardless of title, Drake seemed optimistic. “I wouldn’t rule it out,” told Sway Calloway. “A Drake and Ross project, I think, would be amazing. That’s something even I’d wanna listen to. I’m such a Ross fan, and we make great music together. I could see it happening.”

Drizzy and Rozay have a history of memorable collaborations, with their most recent teaming hitting the ‘net and airwaves last night. “Pop That,” a new single from French Montana’s upcoming album Excuse My French, includes Ross and Drake as well as Lil Wayne. Other highlights from their catalog incluse “I’m On One,” “Aston Martin Music,” “Stay Schemin,” “Free Spirit,” “Made Men,” and “Lord Knows.”

Currently, Drake is on the second leg of his Club Paradise Tour, alongside Meek Mill, J. Cole, 2 Chainz, French Montana and Waka Flocka. The tour comes to a close on June 20. Meanwhile, Rick Ross is preparing for a string of releases, as his Maybach Music Group will be dropping Self Made, Vol. 2 on June 26, which he’ll follow up with his anticipated solo effort, God Forgives, I Don’t, on July 31. —Adam Fleischer (@AdamXXL)
