G.O.O.D. Music got itself a first lady of the crew.

Teyana Taylor signed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint on Monday (May 14), as stated in a press release by Def Jam. The label adds that details for Teyana’s first album and single releases will be revealed in the coming weeks and months ahead.

In the meantime, fans can check for and listen to her first mixtape, The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor, which was released last month and includes “DUI,” a track with Fabolous and Jadakiss and “Make Your Move,” featuring Wale.

The 21-year-old Harlem native and protégé of Pharrell Williams was first signed to Williams’ Startrak/Interscope label when she was only 15-years-old.

She’s also known for her versatility as a singer, songwriter, dancer/choreographer and actor.

Her television appearances include MTV’s “Made,” ABC’S “Limelight,” BET’s “Rip The Runway,” “Spring Bling,” and a co-hosting stint on “106th & Park,” Oxygen’s “House of Glam” and “Hair Battle Spectacular,” and PBS's “Electric Company.”

Most memorably, however, may have been her appearance on MTV’s My Super Sweet 16, on which she memorably asked for a bicycle instead of a sports car like most of the spoiled teens ask for and fully expect on the show.

Other collaborations from Taylor include “Rock Wit Me” with Jadakiss and “Party Tonite” with fellow Harlemites Cam’ron and Jim Jones.

Teyana Taylor joins an already star-studded G.O.O.D. Music imprint, which includes the likes of Kanye himself, an 18-time Grammy Award-winner, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Pusha T and Cyhi the Prynce.—Jakinder Singh
