Jadakiss Says The Next Lox Album Won’t Come Out on Bad Boy

In the mid to late 1990s, The Lox made their name as crucial members of Bad Boy’s bubbling empire. Though the trio haven’t released a group album for over a decade, there has been frequent talk of their new project, and when and where it will be released. There’s still no definitive timetable for the album from Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch, but Kiss recently confirmed that it won’t be released through Bad Boy.

“We went over there, we gave him a shot at it,” Kiss said on Shade45’s “Sway In The Morning Yesterday,” referencing Bad Boy and label head Diddy, before dismissing the possibility. “He wanted to do it, but I don’t think contractually with all of the forces, we weren’t able to do it, but he’s still the big homie.”

Back in 1998, the Yonkers natives dropped their platinum selling debut, Money, Power, Respect, which came a year after featured spots on Bad Boy albums Harlem World and Life After Death, from Ma$e and The Notorious B.I.G., respectively, as well as the crew compilation No Way Out. The good times didn’t last, and The Lox took their talents to Ruff Ryders for We Are The Streets in 2000. Over the next decade, each member carved out solo careers, dropping a combined twelve albums. Now, finally ready to reunite for a full project, Kiss, Ghost and Sheek are looking for a home.
