Michael Jackson Hologram Could Be Following Virtual 2Pac’s Lead

Michael Jackson may be following 2Pac’s lead very soon. Last week, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg wowed fans, performing live on stage at the Coachella music festival, alongside a lifelike hologram of the late 2Pac. Now, the King of Pop may make a similar virtual appearance, gracing the stage as part of the Jackson Five’s performance next year.

The band of brothers, who recently signed a new contract with Motown, are working on a new album to be followed by a tour that could feature a MJ hologram, live on stage as soon as next year.

“It could have Michael—absolutely,” Jackie Jackson confessed to E! News. “Wouldn’t that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael’s Cirque du Soleil show.”

Such a showing should receive an overwhelming response, as did 2Pac’s hologram last week. Although the reaction sparked rumors of the virtual ’Pac going out on tour with Dre and Snoop, Dre recently quelled any such thought via a YouTube video that was posted on Interscope’s homepage.

“It was strictly for Coachella, get it right,” Dre said in the video. “I want to get rid of all the rumors out there. This was not done for a tour. If a tour happens, we’ll see. This was done strictly for Coachella 2012, baby, just for you.”

Meanwhile, the surviving members of the legendary Jackson 5 recently announced that they will embark on their Unity Tour this summer. The 27-city trek is set to kick off June 18 in Louisville, Illinois, marking the the group’s first run since the infamous Victory Tour in 1984.

“I just wish Michael was here with us,” Jackie told E! News in an exclusive interview. “But I’m sure his spirit will be in the house.”—Shamecca Harris
