Jadakiss is set to give his faithful another dose of punch lines and top-notch lyricism via The Consignment mixtape, which drops this Friday (April 27). To preview the compilation, which features the likes of Styles P, Waka Flocka, Lloyd Banks, Fabolous, French Montana, 2 Chainz and more, the raspy rhymeslinger hosted a listening session before friends and various members of the media on Wednesday night (April 25) in New York City.

There, Jada calmly introduced each of the many songs he played, before excitingly reciting the lyrics to some. “Start looking for shit/Seek and you should find/Up all hours of night, peeking through the blinds/Now you only communicate by speaking through your nine,” Kiss lip-synched while blasting “Nightmares and Migraine,” The Consignment’s opening track after the intro.

“Something I wanted to do differently is do some different features that you really wouldn’t expect me with, that you never really heard me with, so that’s what I did,” the Yonkers MC explained. He was not lying either, considering the project includes an assist from Yung Joc.

“Before I did this mixtape, I did something for Yung Joc,” Jada said of Joc, the producer and one of the featured artists to the track “By the Bar.” “He’s been under a rock; he’s still working hard. I think he’s going through some contractual stuff, but he’s a very talented producer. Know what I mean? He does some good work, so after I did what I did for him, he sent me this joint back. I left him on it, and I threw Meek Mill on it.”

He also went out and got two of his fellow NYC lyricists in Fabolous and Lloyd Banks to appear with him on the tough track, “Respected.”

“When you coming from New York, you got to come with the cornerstone of where you from, so I reached out to Loso and my man Banks,” Jada explained before playing the track.

The D-Block general went on to play recently-released “Paper Tags” featuring Wale, French Montana and Styles P, another track called, “Traffickin’” with Young Jeezy and Yo Gotti and “Hustle Like a Muh” featuring Ace Hood and Styles P.

Meanwhile, “Back to the Money” has guest spots from Waka Flocka, the late Slim Dunkin and French Montana. “Dope Boy” has Jada spitting alongside LOX brethren Styles P once again, while “Count It” has Jada lyrically sparring with Styles P and 2 Chainz.

The tape also includes an interview with XXL’s Editor-at-Large Shaheem Reid, who did something similar for Rick Ross’s Rich Forever mixtape. Reid was in attendance along with Jay “Icepick” Jackson, who co-executive produced the tape.
