Often dubbed Mr. PLK (Punch Line King), Banks has been holding his own and putting it down since his first appearance on 50 Cent’s game-changing mixtape, 50 Cent Is The Future.
“I know my history, my family tree done said master/F*ck livin’ positive cause negativity spreads faster/A celebrity has to bulletproof his car/’Cause big hits come flyin’ through ya door like Casper…,” he spit furiously on the memorable “Banks Workout,” a track off the aforementioned mixtape.
As a rooting member of ‘Fif’s G-Unit ensemble, Banks has managed to establish quite the following due to his surging catalog of well-received mixtapes including the fan-favorite, Money In The Bank 5-part series, Return of the PLK and the recently birthed Cold Corner installments—Cold Corner 2 released late last year.
Aside from his street-approved ‘tapes Banks has released three LPs during his career, including 2004′s platinum-selling The Hunger For More, 2006′s Rotten Apple and 2010′s H.F.M. 2 (Hunger For More 2)—which produced the certified gold single “Beamer, Benz Or Bentley” featuring Juelz Santana.
Banks is currently prepping his fourth studio album and the V6 mixtape, which is pushed back at the moment in order for him to work out a few kinks he tweeted this past weekend. “I just want it to be delivered the right way. Trust me, it’s worth the wait! You won’t be disappointed.” Until then, XXLMag.com would like to wish Lloyd Banks a Happy G Day.
