Two hip-hop stars that made their names with separate, but similarly dominant mixtape runs are about to link up for a collaborative project.

50 Cent and DJ Drama will be teaming up for The Lost Tape, which will drop on May 15. "The LOST TAPE is coming out on the 15th," 'Fif tweeted out to the masses on Friday (April 27). "Nothing but heat watch how it shake things up. #SK." The announcement followed up a tweet where the Queens native seemed excited about the zone he was in. "I just finished another joint off the lost tape I'm mixing tonight. Street king energy I'm up all night tonight baby. I'm getting it in #SK," he wrote.

Drama also took to the social networking site to announce that tonight, on his radio show on Shade 45 at 8 p.m., he will be premiering a new song from the tape called "Remain Calm." Though not many other details about the project have come to light yet, expect more info to surface this evening, as Dram will be interviewing Fif to supplement the premiere of the new joint.

Last December, 50 released his first new mixtape in some time, as he treated fans to The Big 10. The release of his new project will arrive shortly before the 10th anniversary of his breakout project, 50 Cent is the Future. Meanwhile, DJ Drama continues to flood the streets with new music; he put his stamp of approval on Jadakiss' mixtape, Consignment, which dropped at midnight last night, and "We In This Bitch," which is the single from his upcoming album and features T.I., Young Jeezy, Ludacris and Future, is gaining steady momentum.

In other 50 Cent news, it was announced that Fif will be increasing his involvement in boxing. “As far as boxing, I think he is going to be involved with the promotion side, we might even have him fight on pay per view one time,” boxer Floyd Mayweather told XXL earlier this week. “We don’t know what the future holds, but he is getting involved with boxing.” The rapper will also be walking his good friend out to the ring on May 5 for Mayweather's bout with Miguel Cotto live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
