“They gotta cut it out, that’s some bullshit,” A$AP told PunchBowlTV during a recent interview.
In particular, A$AP seemed especially irked by Azealia’s notion that Iggy is a racist. Iggy, a member of XXL’s 2012 Freshman class, did wrongfully reference the word “slavemaster” on her track “D.R.U.G.S,” only to apologize later. Still, Azealia blasted the Australian MC for the remark.
“Iggy is not racist,” A$AP said. “Trust me, trust me. That’s some bullshit. I think that’s petty for Azealia because… come on, don’t pick on [Iggy] because she’s White. That’s a low blow.”
Despite the sentiments, the leader of the A$AP Mob doesn’t have any ill will toward Azealia Banks. In fact, he says it’s all love between him, his crew and Azealia.
“Shout out to Azealia, she’s probably mad at us, though,” he said. “Her boyfriend was A$AP AV, we know her and we talk about that. Not bad, but like ‘assholes!’ [Laughs]”
Rocky isn’t the only male to get between the two ladies’ brewing spat to offer comments of his own. T.I., who signed Iggy to his Grand Hustle imprint earlier this month, took Azealia to task for scolding XXL for naming Iggy a Freshman and not her.
“Strategically if she really cares about a Freshmen cover maybe she could hope that she’ll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshmen cover comes back around, maybe she’ll still be a Freshman,” T.I. told DJ Drama during a recent radio interview. “If you spend half of your day getting money and the other half of your day counting money, you ain’t got no time in your day to worry about nobody else.”
In retaliation, Azealia called Tip “corny” for commenting on a war of words between two girls.—Jakinder Singh
