Jay-Z and Beyoncé aren’t babysitting tonight.

Instead, the power couple is scheduled to appear at the grand reopening of Jay-Z's 40/40 Club on Wednesday night (Jan. 18), the New York Daily News is reporting. For Bey, the appearance will mark her first since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter less than two weeks ago.

Super producer Swizz Beatz, New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez and CC Sabathia, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz and the Knicks' Baron Davis are also expected to be in attendance to offer their congratulations to Hov and B and check out the Manhattan club's new $10 million renovations, which include four 165-inch video screens and golden bats lining the walls of the banquettes.

"I wanted to retain the feel of a clubhouse, a relaxed place to interact with friends," Jigga told the Daily News about the club that sits on the corner of 6 West 25th Street in Manhattan.

Since Blue Ivy Carter’s birth, the windows of the 40/40, covered by wooden shades, have been lit with blue lights.

Recently, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg defended the couple’s alleged special treatment at the Lenox Hill Hospital, where the "Bootylicious" singer delivered the child. “Let’s step back a little bit here," the mayor said. "If [the hospital] got paid a lot of money and it lets them provide services to other people who don’t have insurance or can’t afford it, I’m not so sure it’s a bad thing. Full-paying patients are very valuable to hospitals in this day and age.” —Jakinder Singh
