Actor Jon Heder Honored By “Niggas In Paris” Sample

Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Niggas In Paris” is “provocative” and “just what gets the people going.”

Actor Jon Heder, who also starred in the 2007 film Blades of Glory, spoke to FUSE recently about his appearance on the single, jokingly stating, “I have heard [the song], [although] I’m not quite sure what the connection is but, I feel very honored… It’s pretty smooth… I am one of those in Paris. It’s a compliment.”

The actor famously known for his leading role in the Napoleon Dynamite movie also discussed initially not knowing about his placement on the record.

“I heard about it after the fact and I called up my manager [and] was like,  ‘What’s going on here? Is there some kind of compensation happening?’” he joked. “[He answered], ‘the glory of the song is your compensation Jon. Listen to it.’”

When asked how he feels being a part of hip-hop history, the actor replied, “We have to give it a couple years to see if it’s history.”

Just two months ago, Heder’s co-star in the film, Will Ferrell, spoke to MTV about his reaction on being sampled, saying, “I was completely flattered when they asked if they could sample me into the song. I just started to laugh because it felt so surreal. But I really did like the song.”
