Lil Scrappy Gets Distribution Through Universal/Fontana, New Single on iTunes
Out with the old, in with the new — this seems to be the motto Lil Scrappy is going by these days.
The Atlanta, Georgia, rapper recently struck a new recording deal, partnering his own G-Sup imprint with manager Kevin Clark's S-Line label. The two have signed a joint deal with Bonzi Records, a label owned by producer J Wells, which is distributed by Universal/Fontana.
With that in place, the "Feel My Pain" spitter is now prepping his new album, The Grustle, slated for early 2012; the set will feature guest spots from Bun B, Twista and 2 Chainz, the latter two which appears on Scrap's new single, “Helicopter," which just became available on iTunes today (November 1).
In the meantime, Scrappy is hard at work on his upcoming DJ Scream-hosted mixtape, which will be available in December.
Just last month, rumors circulated on the web that Scrappy had been stabbed (again) after having a scuffle with his sister's boyfriend. But Scrappy went on the record via a viral video issued by DJ Smallz to dismiss the allegations, saying it was all hearsay and that he hadn't gotten into another stabbing match since then. — Christopher Minaya
