Their last project, Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star, dropped in ’98. But now Mos and Talib Kweli are coming together to release new music.

During an interview with MTV, Talib Kweli confirmed a new Black Star album will drop next year. "We have a bunch of songs recorded," he said. "We are just trying to figure out the best way to release them, whether it’s going to be one by one, EP or album.”

This comes after the duo debuted their new track, “Fix Up,” last month on The Colbert Report Show. Fans can expect a mastered version of the track real soon.

“When you heard “Fix Up” on Colbert, it wasn’t even mixed; it was something we recorded a week before,“ Kweli admits. “Now we’re at the mixing stage of the song and we are going to put that out ourselves.”
