Trae Tha Truth To Open Children’s Shelter
Houston hometown hero, Trae Tha Truth, plans to give back to his city yet again by opening up an emergency children’s shelter on November 1.
Trae’s charitable organization Angel By Nature will be assisting with the 3,000 square foot facility that is being created to house children until permanent placements care can be found for them.
“I’m more happy for this than anything I’ve done.” Trae said in a statement. “These kids are the world. It’s bigger than me and it’s bigger than the city.”
Trae—who has already contributed so much to the community that the mayor named July 22, Trae Day—explained his motivation for the project.
“The only bad thing is that it’s an emergency shelter,” he said. “The kids will only be there a few days. Realistically, I can’t adopt every kid. But this is a start. This is how we can help. I want them to feel comfortable when they’re there. Sometimes they’ll be placed with good families or new families that they don’t know, but when they’re there, I want them to know they are cared about.”
