Stolen Beats By Dre Headphones Leads to Shootout [Update]

Over the weekend two USC students ended up in the hospital after a shooting that escalated over a pair of Beats By Dre headphones.

According to, the shooting erupted over a stolen pair of the pricey headphones. Both victims were helping their friend confront the suspected robbers when one of the man pulled out a small caliber gun and opened fire, shooting a male victim in the chest. A female victim, a USC graduate student, sustained a gunshot wound to her finger.

As of press time, the male victim is still in California Hospital Medical Center’s ICU, but he is in stable condition. Though police are still searching for the three male suspects, they assured the public they have very good leads and plan to start making arrests.

Update: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the two USC students who were harmed over Labor Day weekend in an act of senseless violence,” a rep for Beats By Dre told “It is our hope  for a speedy recovery for both students and that the authorities bring the assailant to justice as rapidly as possible.”Rachelle Jean-Louis
