Nicki Minaj to Host YSL Fashion Event in NYC

Nicki Minaj is taking a break from the road to host an event at YSL’s New York boutique for Fashion’s Night Out, the event that kicks off New York Fashion week on Thursday, September 8.

“Exclusive: @NickiMinaj to host #YSL #FNO2011 in our NY boutique!” @YSL announced this morning via Twitter.

Also slated to host events are R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, who will be the face of Saks Fifth Avenue’s affair that night; NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire, who will present his design collaboration with Damon Dash’s ex-wife Rachel Roy and will also host a charity event called “Hoops for a Cause” at Macy’s; Jay-Z’s sister-in-law Solange Knowles, who will be deejaying at Lord & Taylor; and New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony, who will be signing the hats he designed with his wife La La at Rag & Bone’s Mercer Street store.

In its third iteration, FNO, the international shopping celebration headed by Vogue’s Anna Wintour, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and NYC&Co., will also be going online this time around by teaming up with shopping site Polyvore to virally showcase FNO events. —Mariel Concepcion
