Mobb Deep is ready to deliver their first album and after various contracts with Loud Records, Jive and G-Unit, throughout their 18-year-career, the Queens-bred duo have decided how to do so. The group have secured their own label deal with Sony's RED Distribution, for their Infamous Records imprint.

“After almost twenty years in this industry, it was inevitable for us to take matters into our own hands,” P said in a statement about the new partnership. “We feel that RED is the perfect home for our brand. We’re ready to work and build our own structure.”

“We know who our fans are and what they want from Mobb Deep,” Hav added. “We’re excited to take a new step in our career.”

XXLMag.com spoke to the group earlier this week, and got some details on what fans can expect on their forthcoming, self-titled disc.

“We’re almost done,” P said of their ninth-studio LP. “Amazing; that’s the best way to describe it. We touch on everything. Real life shit that we’re going through.”

“We have new producers,” Hollywood Hav chimed in. “Of course shit from me, shit from Alchemist. Definitely what you’d expect from us but on a newer level.”

Havoc said the album should be hitting shelves either at the end of this year or the beginning of 2012. In the meantime, M-O-B-B will be dropping a mixtape to tide listeners over.

The Mobb boys are currently on the Rock the Bells tour, where they are performing their classic album, The Infamous, in its entirety. The festival, which also includes sets from other seminal rap acts like Nas, Lauryn Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Common, Cypress Hill and others, will be making its next stop in New York’s Governor’s Island tomorrow (September 3).
