Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV Continues Reign on the Charts

Hip-hop still reigns supreme on the Billboard Top 200 chart as Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV shows no signs of slowing down.

In its second week of release, Weezy’s latest album maintains the No. 1 spot with 218,800 copies sold for a total of 1,184,100 million, clearly making it the biggest hip-hop record so far this year.

While Wayne album sits comfortably at the top, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s joint venture, Watch the Throne, lost ground this week, dropping two spots to No. 6. WTT sold 49,300 this week for an overall total of 836,000.

Game’s The R.E.D. Album took a serious nosedive, dropping 11 spots to No. 19. The Cali-MC sold 18,800 copies of the album this week for a total of 155,500 sold in its three weeks of release.

After being on the Top 200 chart for 13 weeks, Royce Da 5’9” and Eminem’s Bad Meets Evil EP, Hell: The Sequel, fell just one spot to No. 21, selling 17,400 copies for an total tally of 515,900.

And Pitbull’s album, Planet Pit, got revitalized this week, jumping 20 spots to No. 27, with 14,100 units moved, adding up to a total of 205,900 CDs sold in its 12 weeks of release.
