On the eve of the 15th anniversary of Tupac Shakur's death, it appears the fallen rap legend's iced-out Death Row charm is up for sale on eBay.

The current bid on the diamond-encrusted pendant is $0.99 and the seller says the 14K solid yellow gold medallion once belonged to Tupac Shakur and Death Row founder Suge Knight. He's also included links to both the original seller, a man named David Humphrey, so that bidders can consult with him before purchasing and confirm the item's authenticity as well as to a story that talks about a private bidder — in this case the person now selling the piece — purchasing the gem back in 2010.

In related news, XXL will be paying tribute to Shakur in our upcoming September 2011 issue, in lieu of the 15-year-anniversary of his death on September 13.

The forthcoming mag will include interviews with ’Pac’s biological father, Billy Garland, his ex-wife, Keisha Morris, his first manager, Leila Steinberg, his stepfather, Mutulu Shakur, and his group, the Outlawz, among others.

In addition, XXL dug into the tragic passing of one of Shakur’s favorite producers, Johnny J., and investigated the real story behind the beloved MC’s 1994 Quad studio shooting and robbery, recently brought to light with the confession of ex-Jimmy Henchman associate, Dexter Isaac. And finally, 62 rappers remember ’Pac and speak on his impact and legacy.

Be sure to pick up XXL’s September 2011 issue, which hits newststands nationwide on August 16. And don’t forget to check back with XXLMag.com, where XXL will be paying tribute to Tupac Shakur with exclusive content every day through September 13. — Mariel Concepcion
