Naughty by Nature rapper Treach has co-signed the Meek Mill single “Tupac Back” featuring Rick Ross.
Treach, a close friend of the late West Coast icon, praised the song to XXLMag.com for keeping the fallen MC’s memory alive.

"Anytime that I hear something that's on the positive vibe, you can't hate it,” he told XXL. “They keeping his name on the streets. It wasn't a tribute, but it wasn't a dis. It was showing how much he meant to them and to hip-hop.”

“Tupac Back,” the lead single off the Maybach Music Group compilation album, Self Made Vol. 1, finds the 2011 XXL Freshman  and his MMG boss paying homage to the rap legend by weaving Tupac references and song titles throughout the track. The song has inspired similar homages by Maino, who honored Notorious B.I.G. with “Biggie is Back,” and Joell Ortiz, who paid tribute to Big Pun with “Big Pun’s Back.”

Treach said ‘Pac would appreciate knowing that he inspired MCs he never met.

“I listen to the song and I sing it myself, honestly; It's rocking to me,” Treach said. “And I think 2Pac would be looking down like, ‘That's that shit. I don't even know these dudes and they give me love like this? That's that shit.’" —Lauren Carter with reporting by Jayson Rodriguez
