Rza’s acting resume continues to expand, as the Wu-Tang Clan architect is slated to join the cast of the new G.I. Joe movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rza is currently in negotiations to play the Blind Master, “a martial arts master … who in the past trained Joe commandoes Snake-Eyes and Jinx.”

The action flick will also star Channing Tatum and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Though Rza began his career as rapper/producer and de facto leader of the Wu, he has increasingly branched out into film and television. Film credits include American Gangster, The Next Three Days and Repo Men, and as previously reported, he has landed a recurring role on the fifth season of Showtime comedy Californication.

The Shaolin superproducer will also direct and star in The Man with the Iron Fists, a martial arts movie that reunites him with American Gangster co-star Russell Crowe. —Lauren Carter
