Rumors have been circulating that 2011 XXL Freshman Mac Miller joined Rostrum Records labelmate Wiz Khalifa on the Atlantic Records roster.  However, XXLmag.com has learned the gossip is completely false.

Rostrum Records’ Arthur Pitt and Atlantic Records’ representative Sam Crespo explained the mixup to XXL.  “I just want to stress that Mac Miller isn’t on Atlantic Records, in fact he’s strictly independent and on Rostrum Records solely,” Crespo told XXLmag.com.  “Rostrum are my friends from our Wiz Khalifa connection, and I want them to win.”

Rumors started after Crespo sent out the Pittsburgh rapper’s “Donald Trump” record and press release to multiple DJs earlier today.  “DJs I know I created some confusion by sending y’all the Mac Miller ‘Donald Trump’ record,” Crespo announced. “I sent it out because many of you were asking me for it and also to turn y’all on to good and innovative hip hop.”

Set to join the lineup for Governor’s Ball on Governor’s Island in New York this Saturday (June 18), Mac will perform songs from his Rostrum Records’ hosted mixtape Best Day Ever released earlier this year. —Rachelle Jean-Louis
