Fat Joe Drops 88lbs Through Diet and Exercise

Fat Joe recently released his “Drop a Body” video, giving fans a first look at his new drastically leaner body. The normally-oversized rapper dropped 88lbs through diet and exercise, now weighing 265lbs.

The Bronx MC told the Daily News that he decided to drop the weight after watching seven of his friends have heart attacks in their 30s. So, he got a trainer and changed his diet in hope of living a long, healthy life, mainly for his five-year-old daughter Azaryah.

“I can’t leave my daughter behind,” he said. “I want to be here for her; I don’t want to die on her.”

Joe, who once topped the scale at 350lbs, added that he lost the weight with a combined two-hour cardio and weight-lifting routine, and eating six small meals a day of fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean meats.

“I was always LL Cool J in a fat guy’s body,” joked Joe, who says his friends call him “Skinny Joe” and “Joey Flaco” now.
