BMF Movie Is in the Works

A film about the life of  Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, the Detroit mobster who founded the Black Mafia Family (B.M.F) is in the works.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the rights to the film have been acquired by Program Pictures. Producers L.T. Hutton and David Robinson, who are also producing a biopic about Tupac Shakur, are behind the movie. “We have a passion and enthusiasm in bringing Big Meech’s story to the big screen,” commented Hutton. “We’re working closely with Meech and Tammy Cowins to make sure every aspect of the story is done correctly. Over the upcoming months, we’ll be working on getting a script together so we can begin filming as early as next year.”

Members of the BMF used their earnings to enter the music industry and legitimize their business. Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy was reportedly introduced to the mainstream with BMF’s financial backing. —Nicole LoPresti

I once knew this fat dude that kept telling everyone he thought he was Big Meech, and Larry Hoover. Last thing I heard he’d become a correction officer, at least some people don’t try and glamorize crime.
