XXL Launches Reviews & The Break Sections

XXL is proud to announce the launch of two new online sections: Reviews and The Break.

After some time off, we have brought the Reviews section back online, creating an ideal landing destination for fans to know what’s out, what’s hot, and what’s not. Whether it’s albums or mixtapes, we’ll be looking at a slew of releases each week and sizing them up. Just like in the magazine, the projects will be given an overall rating, as well as an assessment on their beats, lyrics, and originality.

While the Reviews tab is an ideal spot for rap listeners, The Break is the place to be for fans and artists alike. This brand new section will showcase up and coming talent that hip-hop fans should be aware of. For artists hoping to get discovered, The Break is where it’s at. Just like with XXL’s Ready or Not iPhone App freestyles, The Break artists (there will be three featured on the site each week) will be introduced to a rotating cast of industry insiders who will be able to check out the music and give their thoughts (last month, DJ Drama, Dru Ha and Sha Money took part, while Statik Selektah and DJ Scream are guests for the month of May).
