Beastie Boys to Sell 110K In First Week
The Beastie Boys are projected to sell around 100,000 to 110,000 copies of Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, their blistering comeback record, in its first week, according to hitsdailydouble.com’s one-day sales projections.
Those numbers should score the Capitol/EMI release hip-hop’s top spot and a solid No. 2 spot on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart come next Wednesday, May 11.
For The Beastie Boys, it’s a strong return to form, yet also a demonstration of the music industry’s general sales decline. The group’s last rap album, 2004’s To The 5 Boroughs, was less well received, but sold 360,000 copies in its first week and eventually went platinum. —Carter Maness
