Fans showed their complete allegiance to Nicki Minaj yesterday night (April 7), showing up to her concert at New York City’s Best Buy Theater decked out in an array of neon colored wigs, flashy make-up and tight skirts.

The invite-only event that celebrated the launch of Casio’s new Tryx camera featured performances by hip-hop’s golden girl as well as the legendary Roots crew.

The hip-hop band gave one of the night's liveliest performances as they warmed the crowd over with a set-list that included their hit songs "You Got Me," "Get Busy,” and "The Next Movement.” They also included a handful of cover songs like Guns and Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine” and Kool G Rap and DJ Polo’s “Men at Work.”

Nicki hit the stage next. As her dancers filled the stage dressed in matching pink wigs, white hoodies, and short shorts, anticipation reached an all time high from the riotous crowd. The Young Money rapstress then went into a montage of her stand out guest appearances on such tracks as "Up All Night", "My Chick Bad", "Bottoms Up", and "Monster," with the latter featuring her dancers wearing Halloween masks.

"This song means so much to me because you guys have supported me for so long", proclaimed an emotional Ms. Minaj as she segwayed into the Rihanna-assisted track, "Fly" off her platinum-selling debut.  Followed by "Super Bass", "Save Me", and "Moment 4 Life" it was now time for rap's newest queen to bid to farewell before signing "N's" on the back of her Barbies' hands.

As she closed her set, Nicki gave this heartfelt speech in regards to being chosen by Casio for the launch event.  "I'ma tell you why this is so important,” she said. “I'm a black girl from Southside Jamaica, Queens, and that is why I tell you Barbz, don't give up."

Nick is currently on Lil Wayne’s I Am Still Music Tour with Rick Ross, Travis Barker and Mix Master Mike. The next stop on the trek is tonight at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in North Carolina. —Ralph Bristout
