Guru Tribute to Take Place on Thursday

On Thursday, April 21 New York City’ s Le Poisson Rouge will host a tribute concert paying homage to Guru on the one-year remembrance of his unfortunate passing.

The concert will feature members of Guru’s family, several of his collaborators from his Jazzmatazz series and several surprise guests.

The Jazzmattaz series ran concurrently with Guru's Gang Star career and he’s credited with being one of the early adopters of jazz influenced hip-hop. —Khalid Saalam
