While Lil Boosie sits behind bars and awaits trial on first degree murder charges, his mother, Connie Hatch released a video online today (March 14), asking fans for their help.

As XXLMag.com previously reported, the Baton Rouge, LA rapper, born Torrence Hatch, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident from last October that left one man dead. That particular charge, in the state of Louisiana, carries a maximum sentence of the death penalty.

In an effort to rally support, Boosie’s family has created a Web site, www.boosiejustice.com, as an outlet for fans to speak out against the charges as well as donate money to his family. “[Lil Boosie] and his family ask that you to please take action now,” the site states. “Let yourself be heard. If you are part of a civil rights organization we want to hear from you."

Ms. Hatch also sent a message to supporters via Lil Boosie's latest video “Green Light Special." "Torrence Hatch is innocent,” she said in the clip [Watch above]. “We want to make sure he gets a fair trial. The site contains info from Torrence attorney and family on how you can help us fight this charge. The charge has placed a huge emotional and financial burden on the family. We need your support.”

Boosie is currently serving a two year sentence for a separate drug and weapons case stemming from a 2008 arrest.
