Starting tomorrow (April 1), hip-hop tastemakers DJ Drama, Dru Ha of Duck Down Music and senior VP of A&R at Island Def Jam Recordings, Sha Money XL, will be listening to freestyles submitted through “Ready or Not,” one of the many functions on the XXL App for iPod, iPhone and iPad users.

The “Ready or Not” function on the XXL App is a user-based voice recorder that allows up-and-coming talent to record a freestyle into their own device, then upload their personal 30-second freestyle to XXLMag.com.

Drama, Dru and Sha will rate and blog about freestyles they hear through the app several times a week on XXLMag.com, so be sure to send in your best efforts. “I listen for subject matter, flows and conviction with voice,” says Sha Money in reference to the the XXL App. “This app will allow me direct access to artists really looking to be heard.”

So far, over 70,000 fans have downloaded the XXL App, giving it a seat beside Pandora, Shazam and Rhaphsody as one of Apple’s top 10 music applications.

In addition to “Ready or Not,” the multi-function app offers XXLMag.com’s hip-hop news, feature stories, lifestyle content, a special rap trivia game, GPS locator to locate your friends and a special Twitter function.

Fans can download the XXL App for free from the Apple Store now here. —XXL Staff
