Yesterday (March 3) Big Sean announced his debut LP, Finally Famous: The Album, is set to hit shelves on May 3 through G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam.

Sean admitted he hasn’t completed recording the disc just yet but so far he has finished collaborations with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, No I.D. and Mike Posner.

He also mentioned that to build some hype for the release date he’s going to drop a mixtape with Curren$y and other artists.

As previously reported, Def Jam issued a press release last month saying the album was going to be released in March. The 2010 Freshman quickly phoned XXL to made it clear that was untrue.

The first single from Sean’s LP, “My Last” featuring Chris Brown, recently hit the airwaves. “I feel like that song really doesn’t follow any trends in music right now,” he recently told XXL. “It’s not necessarily a typical rapper thing to do, but what I like about it is that it’s feel good music. It’s fun and it instills a message to go out and do everything like it’s your last. I feel like that’s an anthem for when your on your way to the club, or in the club drunk as hell—or even whatever situation, just do it like it’s your last. It really set the tone for how the album is gonna be.”—Michael Naclerio
