Rap music is completely dominating the charts. Yesterday, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday topped The Billboard Top 200 albums charts and today Wiz Khalifa follows, grabbing the No. 1 spot on The Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with his hit song, “Black & Yellow.”

This marks the first since the track’s September 2010 debut, that the Pittsburgh native has claimed the seat, replacing Bruno Mars’ “Grenade.”

In addition “Black and Yellow” also managed to hold on to the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart.

Ironically, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team whose colors serve as the hook for Wiz’s track, lost the Super Bowl to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, but that didn’t stop the song’s popularity.

According to the Nielsen SoundScan report, the song has sold close to two million copies already. —Kai Acevedo
