XXLMag.com has learned that 2011 Freshman YG is set to make his big screen debut alongside fellow West Coast rep Snoop Dogg later this year.

The Mario Van Peebles directed movie, titled We the Party, was recently shot in both stars' hometown of Los Angeles and is currently in post production.

Described by YG as a fun, upbeat movie, the flck focuses on the lives of Snoop and his younger brother played by the Def Jam signee. YG plays a 20-year-old student still in high school raising two kids, trying to be a rapper, all while facing abuse from his older brother.

LA acts the New Boyz and The Rej3ctz, also make cameos in the flick, while veteran actors Michael Jai White (Why Did I Get Married), Orlando Brown (That’s So Raven) and Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister (Friday) all have roles as well.

As of press time there is no set release date for the movie.

YG will appear in XXL's forthcoming Freshman issue alongside 2011 classmates Kenrdrick Lamar, Yelawolf, Diggy, Lil B, Meek Mills, Mac Miller, Twist, Fred the Godson and Cyhi the Prynce. The April issue hits newstands nationwide on March 15. —Amber McKynzie
