The man who allegedly stole swag from the set of a Lil Wayne music video says he only wanted to meet the rapper. The culprit, 20-year-old Marcus Negrete, claims he was hoping Weezy would show up to retrieve the items himself, according to tmz.com.

Negrete is being accused of swiping various items from the set, including a laptop, a wallet and tickets to the 2011 NBA All-Star game. Unfortunately for Negrete, those items did not belong to Wayne. Worse still, the laptop was equipped with a GPS censor. Glendora police tracked him to a home in South El Monte, where Negrete was cuffed. He pleaded not guilty.

The incident took place last Friday (February 18) at the New Orleans MC's video shoot with Porcelain Black, reports the Whittier Daily News. The shoot was was at Citrus College in Glendora, CA.—Henry Adaso
