The unknown victim of Funkmaster Flex’s alleged altercation last Friday (February 4) was his wife Monica Joseph-Taylor, according to New York’s Daily News.

As previously reported, the renowned DJ and Hot 97 radio personality was arrested last week after supposedly sharing a domestic dispute with Joseph-Taylor. Flex’s partner of over 10 years accused him of shoving her and breaking her phone after threatening her through text message. He was charged with three counts of harassment and criminal mischief and released on $500 bail shortly thereafter.

That same night, Flex admitted having a problem with his wife. “Yes we had words,” he told The News. “Yes, there was an argument. Yes, there was a phone broken. Yes, there were police called.”

He also offered advice for his fans. “I love my fans, and I encourage all of them to work things out in their own marriages,” Flex added.

Joseph-Taylor spoke on the couple’s current state Saturday morning outside of their Westchester estate. “We’re doing okay,” Flex’s wife, who has two children with the DJ told the paper. “I would love everyone to respect the privacy of my family - for me and my children.”

Flex is scheduled to appear in court on the charges later this month. —Natalie Adeeyo
