Curren$y Releasing Muscle Car Chronicles CD/DVD on March 15, Rep Confirms [VIDEO]

Curren$y may have just signed a deal with Warner Bros Records, but he will still be releasing material on Damon Dash’s BluRoc imprint.

A rep for BluRoc has confirmed with XXLMag.com that Spitta will be dropping his Muscle Car Chronicles CD/DVD— which is a film and accompanying nine-track soundtrack—with the label on March 15.

The package will include eight original records that finds the New Orleans MC rhyming over live instrumentation produced by Dash’s folk artist Sean O’Connell as well as drumming by The Mars Volta’s own Thomas Pridgen. The last song, “Fly Out (Part Tres),” is a remix that includes verses from Mikey Rocks of The Cool Kids and Tabi Bonney. Meanwhile, the 22-minute Coodie & Chike directed movie, documents the recording. [Watch trailer below]

The label rep also revealed plans to drop the 2009 XXL Freshman’s Pilot Talk 3 album on BluRoc.

As previously reported, the New Orleans MC will be putting out his first project for Warner on April 19. Titled Covert Coup, the EP produced entirely by The Alchemist, will include about 10-12 tracks. It will be followed by a 40-city tour.—Jesse Gissen

    Mars Volta is dope fyi….

I said from jump that Muscle Car was a collabo with Dame’s peoples so I wasn’t sure how Warner was just gonna gank that project. I’m still a bit in the dark here though. A bit odd that son has 2 more projects with BluRoc (Cool Kids and Tabi are down with DD172 as well) before he drops an EP on Warner. Anybody know anything about Spitta’s situation?
