Wiz Khalifa & Big K.R.I.T. Invade NYC for Waken Baken Tour [VIDEO]

Wiz Khalifa has been selling out shows on his Waken Baken Tour since September, and this past Saturday night (November 13), he landed in New York City for yet another.

Sold out for two months, the concert went down at the Best Buy Theater (formerly Nokia Theater) in Times Square. A line of excited and expectant fans circled around the block as attendees waited to be let in around 8 p.m. for the show.

Once they made it in, fans were treated to Big K.R.I.T., who opened for Wiz. The Def Jam signee came out with high energy and performing a slew of tracks from his most recent mixtape, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here. Often, he would cut the music for the final pieces of songs, displaying his lyrical prowess as he brought them home acappella. As previously reported, the Mississippi native is gearing up to release his next project, Return of 4Eva, for later this month.

When Khalifa took to the stage next, as smoke, hands and cheers filled the air. The Pittsburgh representer ran through much of his Kush & Orange Juice, as well as some older favorites including “Ink My Whole Body,” before which, much to the delight of the many females in the crowd, he ripped off his shirt to display his intricately tatted upper body.

The XXL Freshman had the building chanting “TGOD” a few times throughout the evening, an acronym standing for “Taylor Gang or Die”—the slogan that Wiz and his fans have popularized in recent months.

At one point, the headliner brought his opener back out as well as Curren$y and three of them performed their collaboration, “Glass House,” live for the first time [watch below]. The Atlantic Records signee rounded out his set with performances of “Black and Yellow” and “This Plane,” [watch below] before he was called back for a short encore. Understanding how many young fans were in attendance, Wiz responsibly told everyone to be safe and to “get home the same way you got here,” before exiting.
