Twista Envisions Kanye Collabo, Celebrates Bday at Free XXL Concert

Twista experienced some of the biggest mainstream success of his career when working with Kanye West earlier this decade. We recently chopped it up with the Chi-town spitter to find out what envisions would be the ideal G.O.O.D. Friday track for him reunite with ‘Ye.

“Ideal, for me—it would be me, Ye, Kool G Rap and Rakim,” he told XXLMag.com.

As for his current relationship with his “Slow Jamz” collaborator, the mile-a-minute rapper was candid. “We don’t really talk a lot, but it’s not because we got a type of beef or anything like that,” he admitted. ”Even though we did what we did together, we kind of have our own lane and our own zone,”  “I’m a big fan of everything he does and [I] do plan on getting in touch with him in the future.”

“I wanna get with him on an artistic level, so we can make things pop for the fans,” he added. “On the other hand, I’ve always been comfortable doing my Twista thing.”

In related news, XXL is throwing an release event with Twista in celebration of our November issue. Fans can RSVP to the free event, going down on the rapper’s birthday, Wednesday, November 17 at 10 p.m. in his hometown of Chicago, by texting XXL to 313131. It will take place at a secret location.

I fuck with Twista but his last few albums were kinda weak with only a couple good tracks on each. Hopin that this new record brings back that heat homey had on joints like suicide, get it wet, slow jamz and whip game proper. Good luck to the big homey.

Twista is my favorite rapper and I gotta say he went mainstream=[ Pull Adrenaline Rush out and give it a listen Twist. Get back to that shit joe!

Back 2 the Basics and Up to Speed are two of the hardest tracks to ever be recorded. Perfect Storm is the best Twista has done in awhile. I gotta resequence the album though once I get the bonus tracks. Darkness is cool but should not have started the album. Having some random Chi rapper kick off the album was the wrong way to go.
